Terms of Use & Privacy Policy

These terms are final and take effect upon publication of the website.

1. Introduction

This website (dinopoulos.gr) is the personal website of Argyris Dinopoulos and is purely informational: it presents his biography, his journalistic and public work, and related photographic and audiovisual material. By browsing the website you accept these terms. The content is provided “as is”.

2. Intellectual property

The texts, photographs, and other content of the website are protected by intellectual-property law and belong to Argyris Dinopoulos or to the respective rights holders. Their reproduction, republication, or other use without prior written permission is not permitted. Third-party marks, names, and links (e.g. YouTube, publishing houses) belong to their owners.

3. Personal data

Data controller: Argyris Dinopoulos · contact@dinopoulos.gr.

What we collect: the website creates no user accounts and does not track you for analytics or advertising. We process personal data only when you contact us — through the contact form or at contact@dinopoulos.gr — namely your name, email address, subject, and message.

Purpose & legal basis: this data is used solely to receive and reply to your message. The legal basis is our legitimate interest (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR) in receiving and handling correspondence addressed to us. It is not used for advertising or newsletters and is not subject to automated decision-making.

Recipients: to operate the website and this messaging we use a small number of trusted providers that act as processors, solely on our instructions: our website-hosting provider, our provider for delivering the contact-form messages, and the mailbox provider that receives messages. Your data is neither sold nor transferred to any other third parties.

Transfers outside the EU: some of these providers may process data in the United States. Such transfers are covered by the EU–U.S. Data Privacy Framework and, as an additional safeguard, by the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.

Retention: messages are kept only for as long as needed to handle the correspondence and, in any event, are deleted no later than 12 months after it concludes.

Your rights (GDPR):

  • to access, rectify, and erase your data;
  • to restrict processing;
  • to object to processing based on our legitimate interest.

To exercise your rights, contact contact@dinopoulos.gr. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority (dpa.gr).

4. Cookies & local storage

The website is static, uses no analytics or advertising cookies, and does not track you. It stores only what is needed to function, and only after an action you take:

  • a small functional cookie that remembers your choice to dismiss the language suggestion;
  • a setting saved locally in your browser that remembers your light or dark theme preference.

In addition, the hosting provider may set strictly necessary security cookies to protect the website and the form. As these are solely either strictly-necessary security items or functional items set at your own request, no consent banner is required.

5. Contact-form security

The contact form is protected by an anti-spam and bot-protection service to prevent unsolicited messages and automated or malicious use. In its default mode the service uses no cookies; to detect automated use it processes limited technical signals (such as your IP address and browser information), in accordance with that provider’s privacy policy.

The website contains links to external sites (e.g. YouTube channels and playlists). We are not responsible for the content or privacy practices of those sites; their use is governed by their own terms.

7. Limitation of liability

Reasonable effort is made to keep the content accurate and current, though no warranty to that effect is given. The website is not liable for any form of damage arising from its use or from the use of linked third-party sites.

8. Changes

These terms may be updated. Any change is posted on this page with a new update date.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by Greek law and the General Data Protection Regulation (EU 2016/679). The courts of Athens shall have jurisdiction over any dispute.

Effective date: upon publication of the website. · Contact: contact@dinopoulos.gr
