1991–2007 · Two devastating earthquakes and two documentaries — from Erzincan and Nicomedia to Istanbul and the Greeks of Smyrna.

Argyris Dinopoulos's first journalistic assignment in Turkey was, reporting for SKAI 100.4 FM, on Good Friday, 7 April 1991, when in central Istanbul a Turk set fire to a Greek tourist coach (of Angelos Tours), with the result that 33 Greek passengers were burned alive.

On 13 March 1992 at Erzincan (for SKAI 100.4 FM) and on 17 August 1999 at Nicomedia, İzmit (for Antenna), he covered the devastating earthquakes.

In 2005, when Turkey's European prospect was still a geopolitical given, he made (for Antenna) the documentary "Turkey at the Critical Crossroads", and in 2007, when the uproar over the "crowding of the Greeks on the Smyrna waterfront in 1922" (as the school textbooks then put it) was at its height, he made (for ERT) the documentary "Smyrna, 85 Years after the Asia Minor Catastrophe".
